Salt and the Aquarium Hobby
TBAS and its members are very concerned about SALT (Aquarium Salt e.g. Sodium Chloride NaCl), and its indiscriminant use in the present day freshwater aquarium. The use of salt is prevalent at both the wholesale and the retail ends of the freshwater aquarium market. We believe that some stores are maintaining a permanent level of salt in freshwater aquariums with fish intended for resale, and it is causing a decline the aquarium hobby because of the problems salt causes. Consumers continue to drop out of the hobby due to their inability to keep fish alive after they were purchased from stores maintaining this salt level. Salt causes many, many more problems than it is purported to solve.

Our first attempt to bring the salt issue to the public will be a list of articles for you to read here on this web site. Please take the time to read them completely, and if you come to the same conclusion we have, then please pass the articles and information on to your friends. Thank You . . . TBAS
